  1. We'll be taking a little break from the Launch Games videos as we approach Christmas, but they'll return in earnest in the new year with episodes looking at the PlayStation 1 and GameCube's launch titles!

  2. The original DS has a stylus nub on the lanyard intentionally so you could attach it to your thumb for a thumb stylus. This was intentional for games like Metroid or other FPS games. The thumb stylus was always intentional for the system.

  3. SUMMING UP EVERY LAUNCH TITLE:
Asphalt Urban GT: An unauthorized port of a racing game that served better on N-Gage

Daigasso! Band Brothers: A Japan-exclusive rhythm game that sadly didn't get localized
Feel the Magic XY/XX: SEGA's failed attempt at a teen party game (It's pretty fun though)

Kensyui Dokuta Tendo: Spike Chunsoft's Trauma Center

Madden NFL 2005: Just get the console versions instead

Mahjong Taikai: A remake of the Super Famicom title of the same name

Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt: A demo to one of the best Metroid games ever made

Mr. Driller Drill Spirits: Dig Dug mixed with Puyo Puyo

Ping Pals: PictoChat that costs money

Pokemon Dash: Proof that Ambrella doesn't make good Pokemon games besides Pokemon Rumble

Polarium: A unique puzzle game that should get revived like Clubhouse Games had

Rayman DS: A TERRIBLE port of Rayman 2: The Great Escape
    from 1999
Robots: A surprisingly good movie tie-in

Spider Man 2: An underwhelming port of a great game

Sprung! The Dating Game: A bizarre dating simulator
only available in Britain and Scandinavia
Super Mario 64 DS: A superior remake of a masterpiece

Tiger Woods PGA Tour: Again, get the console version instead
The Urbz: Sims in the City: Like I said, get the console version
WarioWare: Touched!: One of the best games Wario ever had

Zoo Keeper: A port of an arcade game that's somehow better than the original

Zunō ni Asekaku Game Series Vol.1: Cool104 Joker & Setline: Another puzzle game that needs to be revived

  4. looking back at the launch titles really takes me back to when i initially got my ds for christmas back in 2005, i believe?

i wanted something else to play aside from sm64ds and around that time there wasn’t anything available aside from most of these games in my local target. grandpa told me to pick out two games so in my bright adolescent mind i decided to buy ping pals and mr driller drill spirits. i managed to make way more enjoyment out of ping pals than i’d like to admit but even back then i remember absolutely hating it

  5. The Urbz DS is actually quite a fun game. It has multiple interesting locations and npc encounters, job minigames, sidequests and things to explore 🙂
